This Saturday while scrolling through Instagram, I came across a random page named Beltala Park Collective. While going through their page I got to know that they are from my town Balurghat. They were also organising a Street Photography Master Class, the very next day at 5:30am. I got very excited and saw this as an opportunity to explore.

So, my friend Chitrangshu and I decided to contact the organisers. This was our first time participating in any kind of photography class. When asked what kind of photography we are interested in, we opted for mobile as well as camera as our devices of choice.

So the next day, we woke up at the crack of dawn and at 5:30 am sharp we reached the venue. It was a time well spent. We learned a lot about photography, camera settings, angle, the thought process and the patience of a photographer behind each click. 

The session went on for the whole day and it was a really fantastic experience for me. I want to thank Aninko Acharjee dada and Sougata Mahanta sir for organising this wonderful event and teaching us in a fun but practical way. As a beginner Street photographer, this was a wonderful experience for me which helped me a lot.

Our session was at 05:30 in the morning of 28th May of 2023, I was so excited about learning new things.

Being with the BPC Photography team, I learned many things which are very important in street photography, like how to properly adjust the camera ISO, the importance of grid line and how to use it properly, proper adjustment of exposure, which things we need to think about before clicking a photo and the most important thing are the patience level of a photographer who is doing street photography.

Aninko da and Sougata Mohanta sir taught me a lot of things, which I would definitely treasure as a beginner.

In this edition of the BPC update, best friends Chitrangsh and Arya take over the BPC blog to talk about the Street Photography MasterClass with Sougata held on May 28, 2023, at Thana Morh, Balurghat, Dakshin Dinajpur. Photographs were contributed by the members of the collective.
